Guitar & Bass Guitar Tutor
Ash has been playing electric guitar and bass guitar for over 10 years. Ash began when he was 15 years old. He initially picked up the guitar because he was envious of his musical friends and wanted in on the action, he found he had a natural talent for guitar so decided to go and study music at The Miskin Theatre which is part of North West Kent College. Over the past few years Ash has played in many different genres of bands and has performed live in the theatre as well as in many local pubs, he is currently in a function band which plays a wide variety of music suitable for parties and weddings.
Ashleigh has decided to turn his hand to music teaching as he wants to share his love of music and the fun that it can bring with his students, a lesson with Ash would include learning the scales and chords, all the notes on the fret board, music theory and also some really cool tricks so that you can show off to your friends and family.
Natalie graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. She has been performing since the age of 6, and as a performer she has been part of many professional productions over the last few years including ‘Sister Act’, ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and many more. Natalie also has a lot of experience teaching, specifically over the last 5 years, children ages 2 – 18yrs, a variety of disciplines including Musical Theatre, Singing, Jazz dance, Street dance, Acting, Tap, Acting Through Song. I am very excited to be You Can Fly’s resident Singing tutor, and to finding and working with some really great young talent.
Mike has been playing drums for over 15 years and throughout his time drumming has found great enjoyment in teaching the skills he has learnt. Mike studied music at the Miskin Theatre at NWK College and has now gone on to play for a band called ‘Leogun.’ They are an up-and-coming rock band who have, over the last 4 years, played with big acts such as ‘Kiss’, ‘Queens of the Stone Age’, ‘Extreme’, ‘Faith No More’, ‘Lynyrd Skynyrd’ and ‘Elton John’ to name but a few.
In your lesson with Mike he would teach basic rudiments such as paradiddles and single stroke rolls, then move onto double stroke roles and limb independence. To begin with Mike will bring his practice kit along to your home for you to use during lessons, as you progress it would be ideal that your purchased your own kit so you could practice at home and advance steadily.
Mike is very excited to be teaching drums for ‘You Can Fly Theatre Company’ and looks forward to sharing his skills with his pupils.
